Choosing Native Apps over Hybrid Apps

Native apps are applications that are specifically developed for a specific mobile operating system, such as iOS for Apple devices or Android for devices using the Android operating system. On the other hand, hybrid apps are applications that are developed using web technologies and can be run on multiple platforms.

There are several reasons why native apps are often considered to be better than hybrid apps. Here are a few:

  1. Performance: Native apps are designed specifically for the operating system they are built for, which means they can take advantage of all the features and capabilities of the device. This results in better performance and a smoother user experience. Hybrid apps, on the other hand, rely on a web browser to run and may not be able to fully utilize the device’s capabilities, leading to slower performance and a less seamless user experience.
  2. User experience: Native apps are designed with the specific user interface guidelines of the operating system in mind, which means they tend to have a more intuitive and consistent user experience. Hybrid apps, on the other hand, may not always adhere to the same guidelines and may feel less native to the user.
  3. Access to device features: Native apps have full access to the device’s capabilities and can make use of features such as the camera, GPS, and push notifications. Hybrid apps may not have the same level of access and may not be able to take full advantage of these features.
  4. Offline functionality: Native apps can function offline, whereas hybrid apps may require an internet connection to function properly. This can be a significant advantage for native apps in situations where there is limited or no internet access.
  5. Security: Native apps have an added layer of security since they are installed directly on the device and do not rely on a web browser. This can make them less vulnerable to attacks or data breaches.

Overall, native apps tend to offer a better user experience, better performance, and greater access to device features and offline functionality. However, it is worth noting that hybrid apps can be a good option for businesses looking to quickly develop and deploy an app across multiple platforms without the need for separate native app development for each platform.

For the guest experience it’s… “game changing.”

Through their own mobile devices, guests can order and keep ordering for their on premise table, cabana or any specific location they may be. Extend your existing service and increase revenue, decrease costs all while keeping the very best staff busy and making more money. The guests order more often, receive the best service; the cost/benefits are astounding.

Pioneer (New York based App Development) has partnered up with Hermit Crab Technologies to create an iOS and Android application that is quickly being adopted by restaurants and venues across the United States. With exciting new features, Pitbull has jumped on board and invested into the platform as well!

Core Features:

  • QR Coded Locations: TabUp uses QR Codes to uniquely identify the guests’ ordering location on premises, whether it’s a table, dock, cabana, or any other place where service can be provided. It’s inexpensive, easy to implement, and everyone is familiar with them.
  • Order Sharing: This process gives guests the choice to order from their own device on a shared tab, eliminating the requirement to use one device. Order Sharing accelerates the ordering process and give guests a better experience.
  • Built in two-way communication: Enhanced communication with guests that take a longer distance or more time to service improves the guest experience. Marketplace POS systems do not offer two way communication.
  • Guest Controlled Check Splitting: Servers don’t like splitting checks and guests don’t like waiting for their check to be split.  TabUp gives guests the power to split the check on their own, saving everyone time and hassle.
  • Open Tab Technology: Other services require every round to be closed out and paid for prior to being submitted. This is frustrating and limits revenue. With open tab technology the guest experience is enhanced.

5 Reasons Why You Should Develop a Mobile App

Have you been thinking about developing a mobile app?

Here at Pioneer Applications (a top New York City app development company), we think a lot about developing mobile apps too. And, we know how much of a careful deliberation it can be. Yet, we also know how profitable, rewarding, and valuable mobile applications are for both business owners and individuals.

So, here’s the push you need to go ahead and get started.

Reason One: Now’s the PERFECT time to get started.

Let’s face it: Phones, technology, and mobile apps are becoming a major part of how we exist. The reality is that consumers are downloading apps at extremely high rates. In fact, in 2019,  there were over 204 billion mobile app downloads! This number has been steadily growing, and is predicted to continue growing.

Reason Two: You can seriously increase your revenue.

Between paid downloads and in-app advertisements, apps have the potential to be HIGHLY profitable. In 2023, mobile apps are projected to generate more than 935 billion U.S. dollars. Needless to say, that’s a LOT of money ready to be earned.

Reason Three: Mobile Apps are Co-Vid Proof.

As we’ve seen throughout this global pandemic, a lot of industries are beginning to crumble. The mobile app industry is not one of those industries. Despite our economy being severely shaken, mobile apps continue to be used and created with great success. This success includes app development in New York! The future of business must be Co-Vid proof, and mobile apps already are!

Reason Four: Mobile apps are an especially effective way to reach millennials.

Listen to this: 76 percent of millennials say their phone is useless without mobile apps.

Useless! 76 percent!!

Additionally, 74 percent of millennials open an app when bored.

If you’re trying to reach millennials, developing an app is absolutely essential.

Reason Five: Apps are an opportunity to provide additional value to your customers.

If you’re running a business, consider developing an app with your customer in mind. What would be useful for them? If you create something that’s user-friendly, convenient, and genuinely helpful, you have an opportunity to build positive customer relationships.

Apps help businesses grow all the time; read about one example here!

So…What are you waiting for?

Mobile app used by first responders

NYC First Responders using Technology to help Save Lives

New York City, N.Y. (Pioneer Mobile Applications) — EMTs and Paramedics in the New York City 911 system have been increasing efficiency of patient care and transport with the help of technology that is right in their pockets. The Mobile MDT app which is available for both Apple iPhones & iPads and Android devices allows first responders to quickly open up the app and show the nearest hospitals based on your location.

With over 60 hospitals in the New York City 911 system, there are a wide variety of hospitals that take different types of patients. Through the Mobile MDT app, you can easily browse, filter, and sort through hospitals based on different criteria; allowing you to find the best hospital facility for your patient.

Navigate the city faster and easier
In crowded cities such as New York, sometimes ambulances can be stuck in traffic for over 45 minutes. With the technology provided inside of the app, ETAs (estimated time of arrivals), distances, traffic conditions, and directions are automatically calculated. This aids in decreasing the amount of time it takes from an incident to the hospital.

With hundreds of locations accessible with the tap of a finger, you can view satellite, hybrid, and standard map imagery for any hospital, firehouse, EMS station, or police precinct. Users have the ability to map all of the relative locations to see where they are throughout the city.

Pre-hospital Resources
A decent amount of time is spent with patients in the pre-hospital setting. This makes it important to be able to make clinical decisions with ease. In the protocol section of the Mobile MDT app, first responders can quickly reference General Operating Procedures and Advance Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols.

To help understand the patient’s medical history, the app offers quick access to “Drug Lookup”, where you can find what medications are used for. Along with this, there is quick access feature for the MCI Guide and a Pre-hospital Notification Cheat Sheet.

Other Resources

Hundreds of resources easily accessible

– Push Notifications (allowing users to receive real time alerts and updates)
– Work schedule/calendar with note taking ability
